The 2023 release of the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers Index (IT50 List), a critical benchmark of corporate inclusivity, has unveiled the UK’s 50 most inclusive employers. This prestigious rating was announced during the 2023 Inclusive Awards on December 5th making it eight years in row that IT50 has been shaping diversity and inclusiveness in different sectors.
Inclusive Companies compiled this list following meticulous evaluation by an independent advisory panel of diversity and inclusion (D&I) experts. Each participating organization goes through comprehensive investigations where they provide tangible evidence of their engagement in inclusive practices touching on age, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, LGBTQ+, religion etc.
The West Midlands Fire Service managed to retain its first position for the second consecutive year as it performed impressively once again attesting to its strong commitment towards D&I as part of its organizational culture. Alternatively, UK Power Networks occupies the second place after a jump from sixth last year.
Touchstone remained at number three demonstrating that it is working consistently towards D&I initiatives. The list gives organizations feedback so that they can continuously improve and raise their positions up the rankings.
Money Supermarket took the fifth place this year, which is a remarkable improvement from its previous ranking as number thirty three, however it has been noted that Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and TalkTalk also made remarkable steps up in their ratings.
New entrants have had their influence felt greatly on the rankings. Mott MacDonald debuted impressively at 6th. Others include Kellanova, Which?, Kent Police, Emcor, NATS, Sytner Group, Jardine Motors, Cumbria Police and Principality Building Society.
The list shows an increasing participation of private sector (59.6% of all submissions) and growing representation from FTSE100 companies. It demonstrates a broader engagement across different sectors when it comes to promoting inclusive workplaces.
