UK’s Top 50 Most Inclusive Employers of 2023 Announced at Prestigious Inclusive Awards

The 2023 Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers Index (IT50 List), a crucial benchmark for corporate inclusivity, has been unveiled, highlighting the UK's 50 most inclusive employers. This prestigious ranking, announced at the 2023 Inclusive Awards on December 5, marks the eighth year of the IT50 List's influence on promoting diversity and inclusion across various industries.

Compiled by Inclusive Companies, the list is the result of meticulous evaluation by an independent advisory panel of diversity and inclusion (D&I) experts. Each participating organization undergoes rigorous scrutiny, providing substantial evidence of their inclusive practices across multiple areas such as age, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, LGBTQ+, and religion.

In an impressive repeat performance, West Midlands Fire Service has retained its number one spot for the second consecutive year, a testament to its unwavering commitment to D&I as an integral part of its organizational culture. UK Power Networks, following a significant jump, has achieved the second place, moving up from sixth last year.

Touchstone has successfully maintained its third rank, demonstrating consistent efforts in D&I initiatives. The list encourages organizations to continuously improve and climb the rankings by providing detailed feedback on their submissions.

Among the remarkable progressions this year, Money Supermarket has leaped from 33rd to 5th place, while Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and TalkTalk have also made significant jumps in their rankings.

New entrants have made a notable impact, with Mott MacDonald debuting impressively at 6th place. Other new entrants include Kellanova, Which?, Kent Police, Emcor, NATS, Sytner Group, Jardine Motors, Cumbria Police, and Principality Building Society.

The list reflects a growing participation from the private sector, which accounted for 59.6% of all submissions, and an increase in representation from FTSE100 organizations. This change indicates a broader engagement across various sectors in fostering inclusive workplaces.

The IT50 List is not just a ranking but a platform for cultural transformation, encouraging organizations to embed diversity and inclusion into every aspect of their practice. The top 10 inclusive employers of 2023 are:

  1. West Midlands Fire Service
