Diversity & Inclusion

Our culture is one of the best things about working at LBR, and we are committed to making our organisation an inclusive, respectful &  engaging place to work. Our culture is shaped by our core values that promote equality, innovation & respect in everything we do.

To achieve this mission, our commitments are to:

  • Attract diverse talent to our business, targeting underrepresented groups in areas where we recognise we have a lack of diversity.
  • Ensure our assessment processes are free from bias and we hire people based on merit.
  • Maintain our inclusive and collaborative culture where people feel comfortable to be their authentic self and everyone has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential.
  • We are happy to share that we have partnered with Business Disability Forum to help us on our journey to becoming a more inclusive employer and achieving Level 2 Disability Confident Accreditation. Business Disability Forum work with partners, businesses like ours, the government, and disabled people to improve the life experience of disabled employees and consumers, by removing barriers to inclusion.

Charity

Law Business Research is proud to fund and support the Swawou School for Girls, which is based in Kenema, Sierra Leone.

We’ve been supporting the school since it was set up in 2009 and it now offers 120 girls from the local community a valuable education, as well as a free hot lunch every day and grants for learning materials. The school is designed to be a safe, positive environment for the girls with the students’ families and members of the local community involved in decisions affecting the school.

LBR supports the school financially with a large annual donation which covers the school’s running costs.  With the help of our wonderful FUNraising Network and our other EAN events such as bake offs, auctions and quizzes we also organise an annual mailout of Christmas cards and gifts, a mixture of essential supplies (stationery, toothbrushes, toiletries, reading glasses, etc) and fun things for the girls to enjoy.

Our EANs also partner with and fundraise for charities aligned with their goals such as Mind, The Felix Project, FareShare and The Alwan Foundation. Many of our employees utilise their paid Volunteer Day to support their local communities either as individuals or in groups – the most recent being a day spent clearing up Southwark Park in London alongside Surfers Against Sewage.
