_Overview of the role:_
The role of the Deputy Manager at YO! is to fully support the ASM in the entire operation of their YO! Restaurant. Working under the ASM and actively running shifts in the restaurant, you have a huge impact on all aspects of the business. Although you are not quite an ASM yet, you are certainly learning all the aspects of the business to help you take that next step! On a regular rotation you will be responsible for a host of different areas within the business which your ASM will assign to you. These areas will include recruitment, training, scheduling, stock control, marketing, team communications, maintenance, safety and many more! You will be a fantastic ‘Shift Runner’ who sets the bar in the restaurant for running the very best shifts! Leading and inspiring our entire team you are obsessive about food quality, adherence to spec and can prepare each and every YO! dish brilliantly. Happy teams and Happy guests is the mantra by which you live and instil this modus operandi across your team. You are passionate about an incredible guest experience, developing your team and driving the profitability of your restaurant through great controls of all cost lines. Comfortable and natural in all roles, you are an inspirational presence in your restaurant, running high energy shifts and ensuring each and every day part delivers an outstanding experience for our guests and team – a typical day at YO! for you, may involve opening and prepping in the kitchen and moving onto the floor at lunchtime to run a great shift, seamlessly floating between the two. _Key Accountabilities:_
* As the ‘Deputy Manager’ you have a good understanding of all sections in the Kitchen.
* You play a key part in training your team to Super Squad level, so they are able to work each & every area of the restaurant and can host, roll Sushi, cut fish and work the hot section so scheduling and team flexibility is a breeze. You challenge their abilities in the right way and ensure they are trained and confident in each area.
* Already a natural leader in all sections of the restaurant, including the Kitchen you will be able to direct the Kitchen if required to do so.
* As well as being a great fish cutter you’re also passionate about the quality of our rice, can roll sushi and know the specs of every single dish at YO! You can cook rice, make Ramen stock, prepare all our fruit & vegetables and confidently perform stock reconciliation.
* You engage your team to keep them motivated, well informed and passionate about YO! A natural communicator, you use a variety of mediums to keep your team up to date and in the know! You take an active role on YO! 360 and help lead both Management and Team Meetings. Managers Diary and Team Noticeboards are all used well and to maximum effect
* People development is key and you develop your team using YO! training materials, YO! Apprenticeships, FLOW and other resources
* You are passionate about retaining your Team and know your turnover figures off by heart, you know succession planning is key. Working with your ASM you are always one step ahead in ensuring you have the right people in the right place
* You keep your people safe and happy with sound HR knowledge and coaching. You are comfortable in dealing with HR situations and know where to seek the right advice
* You deliver an exceptional guest experience across each & every shift through great authentic service and producing our mouth-watering dishes to spec
* You utilise all feedback available (Yumpingo, Social, Email etc) to make well informed decisions on how to further improve the guest experience
* Any guest interactions & contacts are quickly followed up, and when we don’t deliver to our high standards, we make it right and quickly resolve so even potential detractors become the biggest advocates of our brand
* Keeping in tune with your local environment, your always on the lookout for innovative ways to drive sales in your restaurant
* You are a proactive Marketeer who executes both national & local marketing activity flawlessly
* You recognise the importance of each & every sale at YO! whether that be through Dine In, Deliveroo, Click & Collect, Takeaway, Sushi School or Meal Kit!
* You drive your team to take every penny possible through recommendations to guests and driving repeat business
* Working with your ASM you are accountable for the profitability of your restaurant and have a keen eye and impact on each line of cost control in your restaurant. You are hands on in achieving Food Cost targets by ensuring adherence to spec, monitoring yields, checking orders and ensuring all our products are available all of the time. Recognising labour as the biggest cost control centre in your restaurant you help plan rota’s well and minimise team turnover through great hiring, brilliant training and engaging your team
* Using all the tools to hand (DPSC, Shield and FLOW) you set the standard in the Restaurant across all areas that encompass both Food Safety and Health & Safety. Cleaning standards are never compromised, and regular auditing takes place
* You are responsible for the good maintenance of your restaurant and all equipment found within. Working closely with our property team you ensure all preventative maintenance is carried out and defects are quickly reported
* Accountable for your teams’ graduations process including training, review meetings, sign off process and celebrate their successes.
* Support with any new Manager training in your Restaurant or in a neighbouring Restaurant.
* Ensure all training including your teams, is kept up to date and compliant with L&D department by attending relevant workshops.

_What you’ll need:_
* At the Snowfox Group we all have one common passion: we are food fanatics! As a Deputy Manager, you must share our passion for pan-Asian flavours and bringing people together.
* You’re currently working as a General Manager, Head Chef, Assistant General Manager, Assistant Manager or Sous Chef who is multi skilled in the kitchen and restaurant and can demonstrate your efficiency in both areas
* You must be able to manage the complete food cost journey – from ordering to performing stock counts whilst being proficient in producing rotas in line with your given labour cost, and always making sure you have the right people in the right places
* You have a good working knowledge of HR and know how to instigate most processes
* Can demonstrate your experience in running shifts front of house
* You lead by example, are consistent, reasonable and make great decisions, sharing ideas and innovations with others
* You create a positive place to work, you showcase diversity and fair treatment and inspire others to do a great job
* You monitor and manage financial targets well, addressing issues proactively
* Recognising when and how information needs to be communicated, you make it happen!

On the Restaurant Floor you can wear your own choice of smart collared shirt and when in Kitchen
your expected to wear your Chef’s Jacket and apron. You are welcome to wear a Chef’s jacket when
running shift too and working on the Restaurant Floor but you must wear an apron in the Kitchen.
You are also responsible for checking and ensuring standards of uniform are met by all of your YO!
