Looking for a solicitor to join the Estate, Trust & Will Disputes Team based in Norwich. You will work closely with, and under the supervision of David Catchpole, Partner, who is based in Norwich, and Lucy Howard, Partner, who is based in Birmingham. Working under supervision, the role will include dealing with a wide range of contentious issues relating to wills and trusts, including Invalidity of wills on grounds of undue influence, improper execution, lack of testamentary capacity and want of knowledge and approval. Propriety estoppel claims. Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Removal of executors and trustees. Breach of trust. Applications pursuant to part 64 of the Civil Procedure Rules. Rectification and construction of wills or trust documents. Legacy disputes. Claims pursuant to the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. Court of Protection claims, including applications for statutory wills.
The role will involve acting for a wide range of clients, including but not limited to private clients, trust companies, educational establishments, professional indemnity insurers, charities, business owners and high net worth individuals.
You will work closely with Estate, Trust and Will Disputes colleagues based in Birmingham, Manchester and Norwich but will assist with delivering a service nationally across all six of the firm‘s offices.
You will be 2+ year‘s PQE qualified in estate, trust and will disputes work gained in a City or large regional firm recognised for this practice area.
Good academics - 2.1 degree or equivalent and good A levels or equivalents. Technically strong. Excellent drafting and written communications skills. Strong interpersonal skills and team skills. Systematic and methodical approach to work with ability to demonstrate these skills. Good time and paper management skills. Commitment to offering professional service at the highest level.
