Job Description

Historic England have two exciting Project Management roles within the Emergency Funding Team to Project Manage the Grants Programme of Major Works.

This is a fixed term contract until 30th September 2022. The successful candidate will be required to start in November 2021.

What you will be doing:

We need you to work collaboratively to manage awards and monitoring, and plan and manage the closedown process. You will work in close collaboration with other Historic England colleagues, grant applicants and recipients, and other key stakeholders such as the Department for Digital, Culture Media and Sport (DCMS)

You will support Business improvement to provide expert Programme Management Office by managing the Grants for Programmes of Major Works scheme. You will ensure that the activity to facilitate the Grants for Programmes of Major Works is delivered on time, to budget and agreed to quality standards every step of the way.

You will act as ambassadors for the promotion of corporate, principles led approach to project management developed and implemented by the wider Programmes and Planning team.

You will manage appropriate project documents, tools and controls in order to plan, identify, monitor, help prioritise and coordinate work.

Who we are looking for:

-Proven experience of planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating multiple projects and/or programmes
-Solid experience of managing budgets and general financial management and monitoring, including risk management
-Ability to switch between multiple projects and work to challenging deadlines
- Proven ability to co-ordinate diverse teams creating a culture of mutual respect and understanding and with ability to work together to achieve a common vision
-Strong negotiation, influencing and inter-personal skills, with ability to work across functional and stakeholder groups
-Strategic thinking, including an ability to foresee risks and opportunities
