We currently have a number of opportunities to join us as a Special Constable.
As a Special Constable, you will support Nottinghamshire Police dealing with immediate police incidents, tackling crime and anti-social behaviour throughout the county. Out on patrol, you will support and engage local communities, helping to resolve the problems they identify.
You will bring to the role your life experiences in dealing with the public and valuable skills from your employment in the workplace. You will be an effective written and verbal communicator able to adapt your communication skills to all levels of society. We will build on your skills increasing your knowledge and confidence. By the end of your training you will wear the same uniform as a regular Police Officer and have the same powers and able to demonstrate these skills on a daily basis.
What you'll do:
Specials take part in frontline police work. They can spend much of their time on the streets, doing intelligence-based patrols in crime hotspots or taking part in crime-prevention initiatives.
It is also extremely varied, and you could easily find yourself doing any of the following:
Ensuring public safety
Preventing crime
Tackling crime
Investigating crime
Securing convictions
Training Requirements
Your training will take place during weekends and evenings. We will discuss the dates with you at interview to ensure you can make them. This is an ongoing application process for additional cohorts to commence in 2025.
It is essential that you attend every session. If you are unable to do so, you would be removed from the cohort/process.
Vetting Level Recruitment – you must have resided in the UK for at least the last 3years
