The Role

We are looking for a bright and proactive Quality Inspector to join our growing team in Cambridge initially until the end of 2022. If you are someone with the ability and willingness to learn and with demonstrable desire for getting improvements in product quality, then this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

You would join a growing, busy but close-knit quality team and, under the direction of the Quality Cell Lead, would be performing incoming inspection and testing of finished product and the responsibility of delivering conforming product to customers. This will primarily involve: 

• Completing your daily workload and dedicated completion of inspection tasks in a timely manner
• Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies, and subassemblies in line with engineering drawings, the quality management system, any other specific requirements, and document non-conformance.
• The ability to use a wide range of inspection and test equipment in line with documented instructions
• Ensure the comprehensive completion and auditable traceability of inspection records.
• Support continuous improvement activities as required.
• Take an active role in the reduction of non-conformance.
• Carry out any other duties appropriate and as required by your line manager/Operations Quality Manager to support business requirements.

About you

We would expect you to be a bit of a perfectionist, but also be practical and flexible to meet business needs. You will thrive in a fast-paced working environment, juggling a wide range of tasks. More specifically you will have:

• Good communication skills both verbally and written
• Be a team player in attitude and values supporting the Quality Team Leader
• Work to tight timescales whilst maintaining quality standards
• The courage and confidence to challenge product progression in the event of discovering a non-conformance
• A positive mindset and good judgement skills
• Good mechanical understanding and ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Previous experience or knowledge of electrical inspection standards, preferably IPC-610 and/or IPC-620
• Great attention to detail, the ability to produce and proof-read documents to a high standard
• Ensure all tasks are conducted safely and report any hazards and near misses.
• Actively promote a safe working culture within the business.
