IT Support Engineer

Role
Forbes Solicitors are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join the IT Team at our head office in Blackburn. This is a full-time role working 38.75 hours per week, Monday- Friday, based at Rutherford House with the option for hybrid working available.

You will be responsible for successfully delivering the following:

• As the first point of contact with colleagues, you will problem solve users' technical questions with a wide range of abilities.
• Assist colleagues in achieving their goals through the use of the hardware and software systems
• Help diagnose malfunctioning systems, hardware, and software
• To log and manage technical support incidents and queries
• Setup new users on our systems and on any hardware required for their role
• Update and create new wiki articles to assist colleagues and other members of the I.T team
• Adopt a flexible working style to ensure the delivery of a high standard of service and a positive customer experience.
• Assist with the ongoing provision of a secure I.T infrastructure
• As part of the first line team, you will be responsible for managing the Helpdesk queues so as to deliver services within agreed SLAs
• Maintain an accurate asset register
• To adopt a flexible responsive maintenance service between the core working hours (currently, Monday to Friday 9.00 am – 5.30 pm)
• To ensure all training and essential learning has been achieved within  a timely manner
• To contribute fully to achieving the IT Dept annual plans and to its continuing development

In addition to this, the successful candidate will be a part of an on-call rota servicing colleagues' urgent out-of-hours issues for 1 week in approx. every 5 weeks.

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on applications demonstrating the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

• at least one year’s experience within a similar role (Essential);
• 5 GCSEs  at grade 9-4, or equivalent, including Maths, English, and ICT;
• further IT qualification, i.e. B-TEC/Degree (Desirable);
• good interpersonal and organizational skills;
• knowledge of IT systems and processes;
• a clean driving license and access to a vehicle - Essential - travel will be required to service the firms' other offices in the Lancashire, Manchester, and Leeds area (*If you have a disability that prevents you from driving please specify so we can assess what reasonable adjustments can be made.)
