Building & Grounds Support Co-ordinator

Job Purpose

We are looking for a reliable Building & Grounds Support Co-Ordinator to undertake upkeep

and repair tasks of the interior and exterior of our premises. You will also be required to

carry out work on the grounds of the building, conducting such tasks as basic grounds

maintenance, weeding, sweeping, litter picking, and minor window cleaning.

You will be predominately based at the Chesham site but will be required to attend the

Uxbridge office on occasion. We will rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by

doing various odd jobs.

Due to the nature of the post, there will be an expectation that the post holder will be

exposed to dirt and dust which on occasions, for example, adverse weather conditions, may

be higher than normal.

On odd occasions, there may be the requirement to work outside of normal agreed hours,

such as early or late starts or weekend work, so some flexibility is required.

• Minor handyman work such as fixing faulty draws, tightening screws, and maintaining locks and hinges. Fixing shelves, replacing lightbulbs, and general porterage assistance.

  · Regular tasks include:

  o, Check all fire escape doors are working and ensure paths are clear and free

  from obstruction.

  o, Check internal water gullies are free running. Check for active woodworm

  o, Check for water damage.

  o, Check all windows are operable and free from damage.

  o Check boilers have pressure and refill as required.

  o Bleed radiators as required

  o, Check carpets for wear and trip hazards.

  o Conduct a visual check from the window for damage to the roof or missing pantiles

  o, Check Water temperatures in the kitchen and bathrooms. Flush and maintain flushing records for all areas, not in use.

  o Litter picking and sweeping main car park, steps, and bin areas.

  o Ensure signage is clean and free from

  o, Check the pathway to the top car park for obstructions and conditions.

  o, Conduct regular walk of the property boundary, for signs of damage, to trees, lake, and permitter walls.

  o, Check lake sluice gate working and life buoys are still in place.

  o Monitor movement of bridge and balcony area via monthly measurement

  o, Replace safety bollards moved by delivery vans.

  o To assist the Facilities Manager with office moves.

  Equipment

  You are responsible for the equipment provided to you for use in your job role. This means you must ensure that equipment is used in accordance with any training provided, the organization’s policies and procedures, and the law and using, where applicable, any safety equipment or Personal Protective Equipment provided. You are responsible for ensuring that the equipment you use is maintained and can be used/operated at all times. Any personal equipment provided by yourself and used in the course of your work must also be suitably maintained and safe for use.

Education

• Any relevant trade qualifications (desirable)

Skills

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Competent at basic building repairs and maintenance.
• Use of small industrial/electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions, including manual handling and working at heights. 
• Literacy and Numeracy skills sufficient to check delivery notes read electric meters and take measurements, etc.
• Able to regularly handle/carry items.
• Hold a full driving license and have use of your own vehicle with the ability to travel between sites.
• Competent at driving large vehicles including transit and Luton vans, if required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrable time management skills.
• Ability to complete tasks within set deadlines.
• Good attention to detail.
• To be friendly and approachable, understand, and be able to deliver good customer service.
• Willingness to undertake any additional training as required.
