Job Description

The role

We are looking for two Associates to join our Insurance Disputes National Service Line (NSL) based in our Birmingham, Manchester or Norwich office. The NSL is actively diversifying its offering which includes professional indemnity, property, construction, financial services, media and reinsurance.The work is predominantly professional indemnity work acting for members of various professions (primarily accountants, brokers, construction professionals, healthcare professionals, Independent Financial Advisers, solicitors, barristers and surveyors). Clients are located nationally, with work referred at their nomination or directly by insurers, most of which are located close to our London office but with developed regionally based teams. Working under supervision, you will assist the Partners and other Manchester NSL members on complex work, dealing with professional negligence matters. 

The person

You will be an NQ with experience gained in a City or large regional firm. You will have a good background in commercial litigation and/or professional indemnity litigation, and insurance coverage disputes.Skills and attributes- Good academics: 2.1 degree or equivalent with good A level grades or equivalents- Litigation experience- Excellent written English for drafting purposes- Advocacy skills- Self-starting with common sense and initiative- Good time and file management skills- Ability to build good working relationships with clients and potential clients- Good research skills, including an ability to use online information sources- Excellent interpersonal and team skills, including ability to work with others, influence and persuadeDesirable- Project management skills
