Ascential are looking for a strong Senior Financial Analyst to join our team and become an integral part of our Financial and Business Reporting and Analysis function. Digital Commerce is the fastest growing business unit within Ascential. With the continued growth and expansion of this business unit an exciting opportunity has developed for a Senior Financial Analyst to work side by side with the CFO, Co-Presidents, and VP HR to manage and drive results. We are looking for a self-starter who can connect the dots and bring meaningful insights to the management team. Responsible for providing a consolidated view of the business unit, including forecasting and detailed analysis, across the brand portfolio. Creation of board reporting, support on special projects and M&A. This is a high exposure position with a unique vantage point to learn the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present consolidated monthly management reporting - analysing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating key messages to senior management
  • Provide analytical forecasting, reporting and project support to senior management
  • Review and analyse financial data to identify risks, opportunities and trends to provide management with insight that will help drive decision making
  • Assist in preparation of month-end board reporting packages for senior and executive level business leaders to communicate financial results
  • Work on special projects and provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed for senior management
  • Consolidate periodic brand forecasts and assess for reasonableness based on trends, key customer activity, impact of innovation, etc.
  • Provide support as needed for acquisition opportunities
  • Configure and maintain new data sets/tools for use in decision making

Your Experience

  • Bachelors' Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • 3+ years of FP&A or equivalent experience including forecasting and reporting experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions and processes
  • Ability to connect-the-dots across disparate data sources and become a reliable “source of truth” for business partners
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP, Hyperion, Workday) preferred
  • Ability to work independently and come up with answers and solutions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Results oriented with the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills a must
