Glyndebourne is recognised internationally as one of the great opera houses; a reputation that stems from a passion for artistic excellence encapsulated in founder John Christie’s insistence on doing “not the best we can do but the best that can be done anywhere”.
Today, Glyndebourne is a year-round operation. The Festival presents a programme of operas throughout the summer, and the annual Glyndebourne Tour, established to bring opera to new audiences across the country and create opportunities for talented singers, runs from October to December. We run a widely respected education programme that stages new work and delivers projects to enhance the understanding and enjoyment of opera. Glyndebourne now also curates year-round exhibitions of contemporary art and sculpture drawing together art and music, alongside displays of fascinating archival material drawn from the collection. Many more people experience Glyndebourne’s work through our newly created streaming service...
